Treereeper

Well for some time now (approx 1 8 months) i have been trying to get some shots of treecreeper's. The weather was not good so I thought I would take a walk around the local woods to see if there was anything about, as usual I took the camera just in case.
It didn't take long when I spotted this little fella happy feeding on the tree's.

Even though the light was really bad I managed to get a few shots. I will be returning again to get some better shots when the sun decides to come out.

First pics from 2011

Well 2011 started very well. I was lucky enough to have a pair of short eared owls hunting above some meadows only about 20 miles from me.

We waited for several days over the christmas holiday for a clear day, eventually the weather cleared alittle but it was still not great. Anyway a quick drive down the motorway and i was there.
The shorties did not dissapoint and were out hunting by about 2pm. I have to say I love these birds but they are not the easiest to photograph.

Hopefully I will have another visit very soon when the weather is a little better.

Year 2010

Well 2010 is now over. This is the first full year I have spent doing wildlife photography and I have loved every minute of it. 2010 has brought along a lot of first's for me including kingfisher, puffins, waxwing and owls.
My fav of this year had to be watching the kingfisher's for several weeks, I never thought I would get so close to one let alone take photo's of them.

I have been looking through my photo's from this year and I can see a improvement as the year has gone, so hopefully I am doing something right :)
I would like to say a special thank you to my friend Ken who has been a mentor to me and helped my photography no end, without his help I would have never had the opportunity to take some of these photo's. Happy new year to all.
